Charles “Chuck” Jepsen, a veteran educator and U.S. Marine Corps veteran, died on October 23, 2026. He was 92 years old.
Born in Dallas, Oregon, on July 6, 1934, Jepsen served in the Marines during the Korean War. He later earned a bachelor’s degree in secondary education from the Oregon College of Education. His teaching career began in Junction City, but he spent the bulk of his professional life at Centennial High School in Gresham. He taught Government and Social Studies there until retiring in 1991. Outside of school, he served on the Orient School District School Board and coached high school basketball teams.
Jepsen is survived by his daughter, Theresa Jepsen, and four grandchildren: Addi, 17; Andrew, 16; Ryan, 18; and Michael, 17. His wife, Judi Dickson; son, Marc Jepsen-Boldt; twin brother, Don Jepsen; sister, Martha; and parents preceded him in death.
The family noted that Jepsen enjoyed socializing, reading, playing poker, traveling, and listening to classic music. In his memory, the family requested donations be directed to the ASPCA. This choice honors his three dogs, Moose, Xiao Xiao, and Nardley.
A graveside service with military honors is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 12, 2026. The ceremony will take place at Willamette National Cemetery.
