Polaris has introduced the 2027 RZR Pro R Boost, a high-performance off-road vehicle that generates 275 horsepower. While the increase in power is the headline figure, the company also overhauled the suspension and transmission to handle the extra stress. The new model starts at approximately $50,000 for the two-door Ultimate trim.
The RZR Pro R Boost uses an evolved version of the ProStar Fury four-cylinder engine. Engineers installed a 60 mm Garrett turbocharger, which raises output by about 50 horsepower compared to the standard Pro R. The engine produces 223 pound-feet of torque. Polaris states that the turbocharger maintains performance at elevations of up to 10,000 feet, a benefit for users in mountainous regions.
The vehicle’s most distinct technical feature is the DYNAMIX DVS suspension system, available on the Ultra model. Traditional electronic suspensions adjust damper settings for compression and rebound. This system adds a third variable by electronically connecting or disconnecting the stabilizer bars. Sensors adjust these settings up to 200 times per second. Drivers can select specific modes for rocky terrain, Baja racing, comfort, or circuit driving.
During a test drive in Utah, the vehicle demonstrated stability on rocky climbs. The driver selected Low gear and the rock mode. The suspension allowed the wheels to move independently while keeping the body stable. The vehicle also performed well on sand dunes, where the Sport and Race modes provided quick throttle response without noticeable turbo lag.
To support the increased power, Polaris reinforced the continuously variable transmission and modified the clutch system. The company also redesigned the cooling system. Heat exchangers for the engine were moved to the rear of the vehicle, while other cooling components remain at the front. Body ducts direct air to the transmission and other parts that generate heat.
The RZR Pro R Boost rides on 15-inch wheels with Pro Armor Tracker 2.0 tires. The wheels feature beadlocks to secure the tires at lower pressures for better traction. The cabin includes a 10.4-inch vertical screen for the Ride Command system, which offers navigation and Apple CarPlay. Physical controls on the steering wheel allow drivers to adjust suspension settings without navigating menus.
The vehicle is available in two-door and four-door configurations. The four-door model provides reasonable legroom for rear passengers. The interior includes one-piece seats and four-point harnesses. Polaris positioned components like the oil filter for easier maintenance access without complex disassembly.
