More than 100 locations have registered for the West Philly Fright Registry, a new tool created to guide visitors through local Halloween attractions. Dyresha Harris established the system to serve as a central resource for residents and tourists exploring the area.

Harris described the platform as a one-stop shop for all things wicked and west. The registry uses an interactive map that allows neighbors to list their homes and displays. Users can sign up through a Google form accessible via a QR code before viewing the map. Icons on the map indicate specific features, such as whether a location offers candy or hosts events.

Participants can filter their search by location. Harris noted that her own display is still under construction. She chose a circus theme inspired by the horror story It, warning that the setup might not be for those afraid of clowns.

In South Philadelphia, David Kroblen has decorated his block for more than 20 years. His display includes spider webs, animatronics, and a bat skeleton. The centerpiece is a flying witch suspended above the sidewalk, roughly a story above the ground. Kroblen used 300-pound weight fishing line to wrap around a pole across the street and secure the decoration to his window.

Residents stopped by the block to view the installations. Kroblen said the Halloween decorations will soon give way to his Christmas setup. After Halloween, the current display comes down, and he begins the process for the next holiday season.

Organizers for the West Philly Fright Registry have set a deadline for new entries. Residents must sign up by Friday to be included on the final map for this year's Halloween.
