Inés Gómez Mont was detained in Florida on Friday, October 30, 2026.
The former television host had been on the run from Mexican law enforcement since 2021. Her husband, Víctor Manuel Álvarez Puga, was arrested in 2025, but Gómez Mont remained at large until this week. Mexican prosecutors accuse her of links to organized crime, embezzlement, and money laundering.
Her family structure includes children from two different marriages. Gómez Mont first married Javier Díaz, with whom she had four children: a daughter named Inés and triplets named Javier, Bruno, and Diego. She later divorced Díaz and married Víctor Álvarez. From that second union, the couple had a son named Bosco and a daughter named María.
Víctor Álvarez also brought a son from a previous relationship into the household. This son, often referred to by the nickname Mayito, is nearly an adult. All of the children, including Mayito, are currently minors or near adulthood and are part of the legal proceedings affecting the family.
Gómez Mont frequently featured these children in her social media content before her legal troubles began. The family now faces a complex legal process that spans both the United States and Mexico. The outcome will depend on whether the U.S. agrees to the Mexican request to have her tried in her home country.
The children will live through this legal process as their parents face charges in two jurisdictions. Gómez Mont had been absent from the public eye since the judicial orders against her and Álvarez were issued. Her arrest marks the end of her five-year evasion of Mexican justice.
