Tiki Kai will host a one-year anniversary celebration on Nov. 5. The event at 73 Pier Ave. in Hermosa Beach features a luau, a whole-pig carving, and fire dance performers.
The venue opened in November 2025. It operates as a tiki bar that combines traditional Polynesian aesthetics with modern design elements. The establishment serves a menu of classic cocktails and island-inspired food.
Dinner seating is limited to two specific times: 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Guests must reserve seats in advance through tikikai.com. The restaurant features a 30-foot bar, tables, booths, and an LED-lit lava-flow path on the floor. Decor includes black lava rock walls, thatched-roof booths, custom carvings, and more than 100 hanging lanterns.
The anniversary menu includes a pork belly dish served with whipped Okinawan potatoes, caramelized Maui onions, and pickled vegetables. The plate comes with three sauces: tangy soy vinegar, honey garlic, and creamy liver sauce. Regular menu items will also be available. These include Sticky Ribs, Hamachi Crudo, and the Pule Hu Steak, which is a rib-eye seasoned with Hawaiian herbs and Kona coffee.
Seafood options on the regular menu consist of octopus, miso black cod, macadamia mahi mahi, and tiger shrimp scampi. The drink list features classic mai tais and specific cocktails. The Navy Grog blends rum, honey, grapefruit, and lime. The Blue Hawaiian contains vodka, rum, and the O.G. ‘44 Mai Tai. The O.G. ‘44 Mai Tai is made with a secret rum blend, curacao, orgeat, and lime.
A portion of the proceeds from the Nov. 5 event will benefit Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. The bar maintains its regular operating hours outside of the anniversary dinner service.
