The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square has opened registration for its annual holiday performances. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will hold three concerts on December 17, 18, and 19 at the Conference Center in Salt Lake City.
Admission to these events is free, but attendees must register to enter a random drawing. The church will split the available ticket allotment among those who sign up. A secondary opportunity exists for those who miss the initial draw. A standby line will form in the Tabernacle on Temple Square starting 90 minutes before each show.
The registration window remains open through November 15. The church plans to mail out or distribute the secured tickets to successful entrants by December 1. The organization stated that the choir and the Orchestra at Temple Square will be joined by guest artists. These performers will sing carols and hymns that are both familiar and new to the audience.
The church noted that the program will include the Christmas story told through words and music. The specific names of this year’s guest performers have not yet been released. The event marks the continuation of a long-standing Utah tradition that draws large crowds to the Salt Lake City area each holiday season.
The church is also accepting tickets for the Salt Lake Temple open house during the same period. This provides another way for the public to participate in the holiday festivities associated with the temple grounds.
